Cornwall Park
★★★★★
With its unique topography and location at the base of Maungakiekie (mountain of the kiekie (Freycinetia banksia) Cornwall Park offers a special experience in the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland. Every year, well over a million people enjoy the park’s rich bird life (around 28 species are found at the park) and about 9,000 trees. The park spans 172 hectares and is one of a handful of parks in the world to offer a working farm experience. This allows visitors to learn about farming practices with its herd of Simmental cattle and flock of Perendale sheep. Cornwall Park was gifted to the people of Aotearoa New Zealand by Sir John Logan Campbell in 1901 and will remain an iconic and cherished destination for generations to come.
