Eliza's Garden Cottage

Eliza's is located within the vineyard, 500 metres from its sister garden, Welton House. The 1967 cottage sits within a one acre woodland garden developed and restored over fifteen years. Guests can also stay in the three bedroom cottage and enjoy private use of the garden, swimming pool and wood fired hot tub.
The garden contains many mature rhododendrons, at their best in October and November, along with magnolias, lilies, ferns and wheki ponga beneath a canopy of established trees. In December, Himalayan Giant Lily flowers throughout the woodland. A long lawn, bordered by rhododendrons, leads to a mature elm, with views of an extensive citrus garden and the Richmond Ranges beyond.
Many of the trees and shrubs are Duncan & Davies selections from the 1960s and 1970s. Earlier plantings have been retained and new ones continue to be added. The garden forms part of ongoing biodiversity and habitat enhancement across the farm and vineyard.

Open by Appointment only. Open 1st December to 31st May.
Admission is included in the fee for Welton House. Visit Welton first and then check availability of Eliza’s which will be subject to the presence or not of overnight guests.
