Garden Itinerary Divider South Island Divider Southland

Enjoy meeting New Zealand natives and their exotic friends...

New Zealand gardeners are amongst the luckiest on the planet. Nowhere else in the world offers such as amazing range of plants, thriving in an area so easily accessible to the visitor. In such a young country New Zealanders have a fresh innovative approach to the garden tradition.

Southland

Southland is New Zealand’s southern most region renowned for its Bluff oysters, rugged hills and rolling plains. Invercargill is the largest urban centre and is the gateway to Stewart Island. A drive along the Catlin Coast allows visitors to explore caves, forests, waterfalls, deserted beaches and generally feast on an abundance of wildlife and rugged beauty.

Walk Gore

Enjoy exploring Gore on foot. Start your morning at Gore Public Gardens and wind your way to Bannerman Park, stopping for a bite to eat as you wish.
