5 Star Gardens

Gore Public Gardens

Gore Public Gardens

Located right in the centre of town Gore Public Gardens host the annual Rhododendron Festival in October that attracts many visitors to enjoy the spring colour and visit the aviary, another feature of the Gardens. The original plantings have been complemented with more exotic trees, shrubs and rare conifers. Tree peonies are a popular addition to the garden.

Queens Park

Queens Park

Queens Park is Invercargill's pride and joy. It extends across 80 hectares and has many entry points. Garden features include rose gardens, rhododendron dell, azalea garden, rock and bog gardens, Japanese garden, Sub-Antarctic Islands garden and a native section.

4 Star Gardens

Bannerman Park

Bannerman Park

Bannerman Park was named in 1977 in honour of R B Bannerman who procured extra land for a park. All the seasons bring colour to the park through spring blossom, summer perennials, autumn leaves and flowering hellebores in winter. Recently a daffodil paddock has been developed where deciduous trees have been underplanted with donated daffodils.
