Enjoy meeting New Zealand natives and their exotic friends...

New Zealand gardeners are amongst the luckiest on the planet. Nowhere else in the world offers such as amazing range of plants, thriving in an area so easily accessible to the visitor. In such a young country New Zealanders have a fresh innovative approach to the garden tradition.

Nelson

The warm sunny region offers a feast of activities for visitors. Three National Parks, fertile countryside, white sandy beaches and vibrant coastal towns make this a must visit on any travellers calendar. Take the water taxis to the beaches along the Abel Tasman, explore forest areas or rock stacks and enjoy the wildlife that basks along its coastline. For a quieter time indulge in a tour of the many artists in the region.   

Day out from Takaka

9am - 9.15am Travel from Takaka to Matuku Farm
9.15am - 11.30am Discover Matuku Farm
11.30am - 11.40am Travel to Tussix
11.40am - 12.40pm Explore Tussix
12.40pm - 1pm Return to Takaka
1pm onwards Lunch and explore Takaka

Adventure & Activities - Enjoy the many mountain biking or cycling tracks, sea kayaking or one of the many walks or hikes in the three National Parks of Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes or Kahurangi.

Culture & Heritage - See how early settlers lived at Founders Park, Broadgreen House & South Street. Visit the Wakatu Marae. Enjoy wandering through the Nelson weekend market. Visit Te Waikorupupu Springs. Take time to visit Tasman Bay Roses in Motueka.

Arts & Crafts - The region is truely rich in creative arts. Visit one of the many galleries and studios and of course being the birth place of the World of Wearable (WOW) Arts, tour the WOW Art & Classic Car Museum.

Key Landmarks - As well as the three National Parks visitors love the experience of Farewell Spit and Grove Scenic Reserve.

1pm - 2.30pm Lunch in Nelson
2.30pm - 2.45pm Travel to Edenhouse
2.45pm - 4pm Explore Edenhouse
4pm onwards Stay a night at Edenhouse or return to Motueka
