Christchurch & Canterbury

Following the earthquakes Canterbury is emerging as a region of remarkable contrasts. Despite a loss of many buildings the heart of the Christchurch people remains strong and extremely welcoming and it is still renowned for being The Garden City reflected in the many top quality gardens you can find in this region. Whale watching, skiing, hiking, white water rafting and hot water springs are among the many other activities on offer. You will want to stay a while and explore this region.

North Canterbury

9am - 10.15am Travel north of Christchurch to Hawarden stop here for morning tea
10.15am - 11.45am Explore Flaxmere
11.45am - 1pm Travel back to Christcurch
1pm - 2pm Lunch in Christchurch
2pm onwards Discover the Christchurch Botanic Gardens
