Description

Unusual for its immaculate lawns and restrained yet beautiful plantings, this country garden covers four hectares. Weeping silver pears under planted in season with blue spires of Campanula and white foxgloves set the scene in the entrance court yard, the first of many interesting plant combinations which await the visitor. Entrance to the garden is through a whimsical potager where formal beds of vegetables and archways festooned with sweet peas and climbing beans is of special interest. Pass through a solid timber gateway into the main garden where there is a wide view of the plantings below. A bog area in a blue colour scheme follows the gully down into a large pond and a further boggy planting in yellow leads upwards to well mulched areas of rhododendrons. Hedges are another feature at in this garden - lavender, box and Teucrium but the piece de resistance is the sinuous yet perfectly clipped hedges of silver Cupressus arizonica 'Blue Ice.' Easily walked,Woodbridge is spacious and thoughtfully planned along generous lines. Please note that a discount for admission applies to groups on application. Morning/afternoon teas and lunches are available by prior arrangement.   Recommended visit duration between 1 - 1.5 hours.
